Many thanks to all who took part in our pennants extravaganza, either making or winning or buying a ticket and not winning. The total for four days was £5,364.83, but that’s only the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning. We had such a wonderful response, that we still have pennants whic may appear in a raffle (or tombola) near you. The above totoal will increaseover the next few weeks- keep checking. Here’s an increase, Jane Steward, Marilyn Lovett, Vivien Finch and friends had a pennants sale over the last weekend at Hever and made an amazing £1443.61. So the total to date is £6808.44. Thank you to you all, sellers and purchasers. Perhaps we can get to £7,000 Please send in pictures of winning pennants in situ, we’d love to know that they’re in good homes. Thanks to everyone, Judith

What a brilliant header on this site- you’ve been very busy. I spoke in Bristol last night, and begged for support, and did the same today in Swansea Quilters.Looking forward to receiving our first finished pennant. Judith

Have finally got around to making some. Two finished, will send photos. Yesterday my husband asked me what I was working on. When I said patchwork pennants he was mystified and wondered what could be so bad in the quilting world to need a penance!!!

Could you add a running total figure on the home page?
It could be helpful in spurring contributors on to send in their work and push up the number.

      Dear Judith,
Thank you for such a prompt response to my query and for doing the maths! Sounds like a good figure for now, last year submissions accelerated as the FOQ approached and likely will be similar this year. I look forward to the opportunity to win a pennant at the show.

I am spreading the word through my talks and patterns are popular – I have about 20 pennants but want to get to 50 if I can!

I sent a pennant a few weeks ago with the tile What a Liberty. I am beginning to wonder if it ever arrived. Last year I got an e-mail saying that my gem quilt had arrived and it was displayed on the website. Perhaps I need to do another.

Dear Diane, one of the ladies who is dealing with incoming pennants has been away for a couple of weeks. She’s back now, and is catching up as fast as she can. If she doesn’t have “What a Liberty” in her In box, she will let you know – in fact if she does have it, she will send a “thank you”. I’m keeping my fingers crossed – it would be such a shame if it has gone astray. Best wishes,
      Margery Allcock.

Hi Diane, thank you for your lovely Liberty pennant, I have just posted the picture onto the site. Sorry it took so long, but I have been away on holiday and had a lot of catching up to do when I got back. We are getting lots of pennant in now, and hope to reach our target on over 2000 so we can raise lots of money for The Guild. Thanks again, Joy

Dear Diane, one of the ladies who deal with incoming pennants has been away for a while but she is back now and catching up as fast as she can. She has got your pennant and I think she’s replied to you personally now. Best wishes,
      Margery.
